The UShoot team excited for Comicon ready to strut our stuff

We get a huge range of awesome stuff coming through the studio. The broad variety of items are a testament to the versatility of our machines (and our stylists), but there are some things that get us a little more excited.

Being Marvel fans amongst other things, one  of the more exciting things is coming to our building the BDC

London Super Comic Con (LSCC) is preparing to take over our office building for their 3 day comic spectacular.

Thousands of comic fans will descend to experience the Super Comic world, meeting their heroes and socialising with other true fans. Special appearances will also be made by epic comic inspirations such as award-wining Marvel legend Brian Michael Bendis and Valiant, the award-winning publisher.

Gorgeous silk womens wear with the comfort of pyjamas by MaiMei

MAIMEI’S luxury silk women’s wear

Amber identified a niche in the market when she began working from home. She lived in her beloved pjs, boyfriend shirts and oversized jumpers – the aim was to be comfortable, however this left her feeling a little caught out when the doorbell would ring. She wanted effortless clothing that would make her feel good in body and in mind.

Having found nothing that hit the spot, she recognised a growing need for easy to wear womenswear, that’s as comfortable as it is elegant, so created a collection of tailored silk clothing that would feel like her favourite pyjamas, but look like evening wear.

Flower Power with Iris & Bee

Iris & Bee is all about flowers.

Prints and paintings and we think they have some just gorgeous art.

They came across the all too familiar problem of how to digitise their art. It can be done at home of course, set up a little studio, try and get a shot precisely head on, or perhaps artistically create a background out of some cleverly folded sheets. This however, isn’t ideal. The consistency is never quite right, and the lighting will likely be off so the colours aren’t good representations.

The Healthy Back Bag

The Healthy Back Bag is all about bags for everybody for very occasion. They have been using Ushoot since day one.

Designed with their unique patented teardrop shape the bags are like no other. The idea behind the bag is to combine perfectly ideas of comfort, practicality and function all in a stylish designer bag. No easy task.

The bags shape is what really sets it apart, the cross body single-strap bag spreads weight down your spine making heavy loads feel lighter and making it good for your back. This isn’t what we really love about them though. The shape is intriguing but it’s their designs that really supply the wow factor.

Olivier Baby

Olivier Baby was set up in 2011 by Emma Davison, who was shortly after joined by her sister, Alice Smith. Emma is herself a passionate knitter and as a team they design and create all the samples themselves. These samples are then put through the most rigorous quality tests by their children.

They aim to reflect the fun and laughter of their own childhoods in their deigns, instilling a distinct sense of nostalgia in many of their designs. Their shapes and lines are classic, and paired with refreshing and comforting colours. Stylish traditional, timeless designs instilled with that element of fun that is so quintessential of childhood. Whether it’s a star on the elbows or a heart on the bottom there is a little something on each item to make you smile. Importantly, all their clothes are hard wearing, soft and comfortable. So the kids look great and feel great, nothing to stop them from having fun.

TAG – Fine Art

Our machines make digitising art an absolute doddle.

It is no surprise then that we get quite a lot of art coming through our doors.

TAG fine arts launched in 2006. They are based in the same building as us in Islington. They have a assortment of fantastic artist using various different mediums. From sculpture to huge prints. All of this need digitising which has previously been a huge problem for them.

However, over the last couple of years that we’ve been based in the BDC we have developed a great relationship with them and now every time they get a new piece in, they wander up the corridor and pop-in.

The above is a piece by Loraine Rutt who has been making maps from clay for over 25 years. It is a piece called ‘Segment: Land and Sea’ and is made up of 24 Porcelain globe segments.

Having us so near is immensely useful for them. But the main benefit from our studio is the machines. It simplifies and speeds up the entire process for them. Making it easier and more efficient than ever before.

Pyrus Shoot their newest collection at Ushoot Studios

We love having Ash come in with their fantastic ranges, he is enthusiastic, friendly and an extremely accomplished user of the vertical machine. So it is always a pleasure. It was his second visit to our studio recently and as last time he cracked on with a smile.

Ash and Lorraine met whilst studying at London College of fashion and then joined forces to establish Pyrus in 2005.

12 years on and Pyrus is doing very well with a really lovely selection of womenswear. The aim of their brand is easy wear modern classics. Clothes that won’t drop out of fashion next season, rather remain impervious to the swiftly changing courses of fashion fads.

Their designs are lovingly thought through, inspired by trips to everywhere from India to local art fairs and markets. Stocked internationally, across UK, Spain, France and even Japan, they now have a loyal following, and it is easy to see why.

Based in East London, UShoot was a great find for their product photography needs. The ability to control the shoot suits such a bespoke and unique brand very well. We very much look forward to seeing Ash next season with their newest ranges!

Air and Grace

We received a selection of Air and Grace’s newest shoes.

Claire Burrows began Air and Grace only two years ago. The concept came from the fact, that like many women she was spending an extortionate amount of money on beautiful shoes that she never wore. Never wore because they hurt. There is only so much pain you are willing to go through before you simply have to give up on them.

Thus Air and Grace was born. Claire is a graduate from London College of Fashion with over 20 years in the industry, she saw the gap an obvious gap in the market place, and through a lot of hard work she has managed to fit into it. Her shoe give your feet bounce and your toes wiggle room. The Tender Loving Air® technology provides three layers of luxurious memory foam cushioning which is cleverly hidden, so you can enjoy the feel good factor without compromising on style.

Stunning shoes that love your feet, with none of that awkward orthopaedic clunkiness.
