The UShoot team excited for Comicon ready to strut our stuff

We get a huge range of awesome stuff coming through the studio. The broad variety of items are a testament to the versatility of our machines (and our stylists), but there are some things that get us a little more excited.

Being Marvel fans amongst other things, one  of the more exciting things is coming to our building the BDC

London Super Comic Con (LSCC) is preparing to take over our office building for their 3 day comic spectacular.

Thousands of comic fans will descend to experience the Super Comic world, meeting their heroes and socialising with other true fans. Special appearances will also be made by epic comic inspirations such as award-wining Marvel legend Brian Michael Bendis and Valiant, the award-winning publisher.

Creative Product Photography with Penelope Hope

Creative Product Photography with Penelope Hope

We are, though we might pretend other wise at times, a bunch of creatives at UShoot and do love a bit of creative product photography.

So when Nadia from Penelope Hope called in and enquired if we could get creative with the product photography for her new range of Aprons, we immediately said yes. It wasn’t until later when we’d opened up the box she sent us and had a look at them that we realised just how much fun we were going to have!

9 Creative Product Photography Ideas

Why would you need Creative Product Photography?

The online market place is continually demanding innovation in the way products are being presented. This is being led by the big brands and fashion houses who have the resource to continually create creative product photography ideas: resulting in extraordinary, gripping imagery.

This is due to the advancement of technology, making it quicker and easier to shop online, meaning that in 2017, we have reached a time where people actually buy more online than they do in-store.

Flower Power with Iris & Bee

Iris & Bee is all about flowers.

Prints and paintings and we think they have some just gorgeous art.

They came across the all too familiar problem of how to digitise their art. It can be done at home of course, set up a little studio, try and get a shot precisely head on, or perhaps artistically create a background out of some cleverly folded sheets. This however, isn’t ideal. The consistency is never quite right, and the lighting will likely be off so the colours aren’t good representations.

Olivier Baby

Olivier Baby was set up in 2011 by Emma Davison, who was shortly after joined by her sister, Alice Smith. Emma is herself a passionate knitter and as a team they design and create all the samples themselves. These samples are then put through the most rigorous quality tests by their children.

They aim to reflect the fun and laughter of their own childhoods in their deigns, instilling a distinct sense of nostalgia in many of their designs. Their shapes and lines are classic, and paired with refreshing and comforting colours. Stylish traditional, timeless designs instilled with that element of fun that is so quintessential of childhood. Whether it’s a star on the elbows or a heart on the bottom there is a little something on each item to make you smile. Importantly, all their clothes are hard wearing, soft and comfortable. So the kids look great and feel great, nothing to stop them from having fun.

TAG – Fine Art

Our machines make digitising art an absolute doddle.

It is no surprise then that we get quite a lot of art coming through our doors.

TAG fine arts launched in 2006. They are based in the same building as us in Islington. They have a assortment of fantastic artist using various different mediums. From sculpture to huge prints. All of this need digitising which has previously been a huge problem for them.

However, over the last couple of years that we’ve been based in the BDC we have developed a great relationship with them and now every time they get a new piece in, they wander up the corridor and pop-in.

The above is a piece by Loraine Rutt who has been making maps from clay for over 25 years. It is a piece called ‘Segment: Land and Sea’ and is made up of 24 Porcelain globe segments.

Having us so near is immensely useful for them. But the main benefit from our studio is the machines. It simplifies and speeds up the entire process for them. Making it easier and more efficient than ever before.

William Yeoward

William Yeoward is considered one of the design scene’s leading creative forces, famed for creating elegance and comfort at home. Designer of truly beautiful products including furniture, crystal, lighting and many other accessories. We love his gorgeous upholstery and curtain fabrics and soft furnishings.

They sent in five carpets the biggest of which was over two metres wide and 3 metres long. Such a vast product presents a rather obvious problem. As we helped carry the rugs in from the van we worried. These were the biggest things we had ever shot.

In the end we were worrying over nothing. Admittedly heavy, awkward but we all piled in to help. And with two people to lift and style then hold in place on our flatbed table and another to shoot it was remarkably simple.

For these we took four shots, and in post-production comped the final image together, giving the full image. For items lie this our horizontal machine is perfect and it is a relatively simple and easy process to post-produce these into one cohesive image ready for use online.

St Piece

Intricate patterns aligned with intense, even opulent, colours set St Piece apart.

St Piece are a London based design studio specialising in luxury silk scarves and accessories for men and women. Founded in 2013 St Piece designs in their London studio before sending off to be printed and individually hand-rolled in Cheshire.

Their goal is to create ‘beautiful painting on luxury canvases of silk and cashmere’. And we might suggest they succeed.
